About Michelle Deatrick

Michelle Deatrick is the Chair and founder of the Democratic National Committee’s first-ever Environment and Climate Crisis Council. She advocates for the adoption of bold, science-based climate and environmental policy in the Democratic Party, and as Council chair has built a strong, diverse coalition for the Council’s policy recommendations. A policy analyst, editor and internationally honored poet, she is a proud union member and a delegate to her regional labor federation. She has served as vice chair of her county commission and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. Michelle lives on her family’s 80 acre farm in southeast Michigan.
